Swallow Tale

“A season had turned since the passing of my father in 2023. I returned to a familiar journey, the Camino, albeit my first Way from Portugal to Santiago.

“The 35mm-analog camera at the end of the strap digging into my shoulder, provided the ‘pen and paper’ for documentation. Observing small, momentary wonders of Life and Creation along my Camino-path reawakened joy in my being. As winter gloom turned to summer bloom, with a split in feathers and the return of the beloved flock of flight, I observed the stirrings of a new season, around and inside.

“Swallow Tale is a visual journal of daily entries, recorded during this seasonal journey. This body of work displays a summary of consciously appreciated moments, time taken to tend to my soul. As a visual journal, it invites the viewer to share a few steps along a personal pilgrimage. In another sense, it offers a completely blank page, inviting others to contemplate what a similar practice might look like in their own life.”
